What is Ultraformer?
Ultraformer is a skin-lifting device that uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), made by Classys of South Korea. It is one of the most widely used lifting machines in aesthetic clinics across Thailand, known for being more affordable than premium-tier devices and for treating both the face and the body.
How does Ultraformer work?
The principle is the same as HIFU in general: ultrasound energy creates heat points under the skin that trigger new collagen production. Ultraformer's strength is its range of cartridges at different depths — 1.5 and 3.0 millimetres for the skin layers, 4.5 millimetres for the SMAS layer, and special deep cartridges for the body — so the doctor can mix depths to match the problem in each area.
Ultraformer III vs Ultraformer MPT — what's the difference?
Ultraformer III is the model that has been in widespread use for years. Ultraformer MPT is the newer version, adding Micro Pulsed Technology that fires energy in faster, tighter pulses and works in both dot and linear modes. The result is a quicker session that most people find more comfortable than the older model. If a clinic offers both, the main differences you will notice are speed, how it feels during treatment, and price.
What can Ultraformer treat?
- Lifting the jawline and cheeks, and reducing a double chin
- Slimming the face and firming skin that has started to sag
- Tightening body skin — such as upper arms and abdomen — with dedicated body cartridges
- Stimulating collagen to slow sagging over the long term
Does it hurt? Is there downtime?
Treatment feels like pulses of heat or a deep ache under the skin — generally milder than some higher-energy devices, and the MPT model is more comfortable than the III. There may be slight redness or swelling for a few hours to a few days afterwards. You can return to normal life immediately.
When do you see results, and how long do they last?
An initial tightening is visible after treatment, and the result becomes clearer over 1–3 months as new collagen forms. Results generally last around 6–12 months — shorter than a premium device like Ulthera, but in exchange for a lower price per session. Many people simply repeat it once a year to maintain the result.
Who is Ultraformer right for?
It suits people with mild to moderate skin laxity who want lifting at an accessible price, or who want to firm both face and body with one machine. If your skin is significantly loose, or you want results that last longer per session, compare the alternatives before deciding.
The bottom line
Ultraformer is a HIFU machine that balances results, price and comfort. The thing to watch for is counterfeit machines, which do circulate in the market — always choose a clinic that can prove its machine is genuine.
