What is Oligio?
Oligio is a skin-tightening device from South Korea that uses monopolar radiofrequency (RF) at 6.78 MHz. It sits in the same technology family as Thermage, but is positioned to be more accessible — both in price and in how it feels during treatment. That has made it one of the most popular tightening programs in Thai clinics over the past few years.
How does Oligio work?
The RF waves send heat into the skin layers, making existing collagen contract while stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin, so the skin gradually becomes firmer. What makes Oligio more comfortable than older RF machines is the safety system built into the handpiece: a skin-temperature sensor, a pressure sensor, and automatic cooling that protects the surface of the skin while the energy is delivered. During treatment it feels like warmth on the skin, and a session takes around 20–60 minutes depending on the area.
What can Oligio treat?
- Tightening facial skin that has started to sag, for a clearer jawline
- Reducing a double chin and localized facial fat
- Tightening pores for smoother, firmer-feeling skin
- Softening shallow wrinkles through collagen stimulation
How many shots, how many sessions?
The shot count depends on the area and the severity of the problem. As a rule of thumb it starts around 300 shots for a small spot like the double chin or jawline, increasing for a full-face treatment — the doctor assesses the appropriate number. It is normally done as a single session per round, not a tightly packed course, and repeated when the result starts to fade.
When do you see results, and how long do they last?
Some feeling of tightness starts right after treatment, and the result becomes clearer over 1–3 months as new collagen forms. Results generally last around 6–12 months, and the newer Oligio X is commonly quoted at around 8–12 months — depending on skin condition, age and self-care. Note that as of early 2026 there is a newest model launched in Korea that is not yet officially marketed in Thailand; if a clinic claims to have a special model, always ask to see the actual machine's documentation.
How does Oligio differ from the ultrasound group?
Oligio uses radio waves that spread heat through the skin layers — suited to firming skin texture and the jawline. The ultrasound group, like Ulthera and Ultraformer, fires focused points of energy down to the SMAS layer for deeper lifting work. The two approaches answer different problems, and in some cases doctors use them together. Read more in our comparison article.
Who is Oligio right for?
It suits people with mild to moderate early sagging, a double chin or a soft jawline, who are pain-averse and want a program with zero downtime. If sagging is severe, consult a doctor to compare deeper-working alternatives before deciding.
The bottom line
Oligio is the RF answer that balances comfort, price and results. As with every tightening device, the deciding factors are a genuine machine, a sensible shot count, and a doctor who assesses you honestly.
